St. Wojciech Church in Krakow

On November 27, 1988, the parish of St. Adalbert was established, by decree of Cardinal Franciszek Macharski, with the need to build a new church. Thanks to the generosity of parishioners, land was purchased for the construction of the church at the junction of Wesele and Zarzecze streets. Construction began in April 1993. In October 1994, Cardinal Franciszek Macharski laid the cornerstone consecrated by the Holy Father John Paul II during a parish pilgrimage to Rome. The construction of the church coincided with the 1000th anniversary of the death of St. Adalbert, the parish's patron saint. The ceremonial consecration of the new church took place on November 16, 1997 at 12 o'clock during a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Franciszek Macharski. The church was consecrated in 2000.
